## When Google Meet is the better choice

Choose Google Meet when you need Google Calendar scheduling, Gmail/Workspace integration, live captions and cloud recording, or meetings larger than 6 people. Pondchat is built for quick, private 2–6 person calls where nobody should need a Google account or mobile app install.

## How Pondchat handles privacy differently

Google Meet routes audio and video through Google's centralized SFU infrastructure and ties sessions to Google identities. Pondchat connects browsers directly over DTLS-SRTP, encrypts text chat client-side with a room-derived AES-GCM key, and wipes ciphertext as soon as the pond empties.
